Two frat guys take a nerdy kid to Palm Springs for spring vacation after the kid’s dad offers them his condo for the stay. And if they can get the kid laid, the dad will also install a hot tub and jacuzzi at the frat house. You now know everything you need to know about Fraternity Vacation, really. The two frat guys engage in a ‘who can lay a babe first’ contest with rival frat dudes, all while the nerdy kid falls in love for real and gets his heart broken. The movie’s not as mean-spirited as it sounds, but it’s also not as funny as one would hope.  The most interesting thing about it is its cast, some of whom went on to movies of greater note. Future Oscar-winner Tim Robbins (Mystic River, Shawshank Redemption) plays one of the main frat dudes, while Fright Night‘s Stephen Geoffreys plays the nerdy kid. Amanda Bearse from Fright Night also appears in the film. With John Vernon (Animal House); directed by James Frawley (The Muppet Movie).
