Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum go undercover at college to bust another drug lord in a sequel that is admittedly and unabashedly more of the same. But the sequel is even more bromantic than the first, playing the relationship so serious at times, it’s not even comedy anymore. I gotta give these 21 Jump Street movies credit for helping remove the stick from straight male homophobes’ asses. Let’s hope the trend continues. Overall, it’s a slightly less funny movie, but not without its moments. Hallucinogens are responsible for another memorable sequence, Jillian Bell stands out as a particularly snarky and potentially dangerous dorm mate, and the end titles give us a look at many, many, many more 21 Jump Street sequels and spin-offs from the future.
