Ted 2 (2015)
[6]
Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear wants to have a baby with his human wife, but the government doesn’t acknowledge Ted as his own person. This sets Ted, his human pal played by Mark Whalberg, and a new lawyer friend played by Amanda Seyfried off on a quest to prove Ted’s humanity in a court of law before a toy company legally reclaims Ted as its property. Along the way, pot is smoked, sperm is spilled, and celebrity cameos are enjoyed.
Ted 2 is more of the same from writer/director Seth MacFarlane, but I don’t mean that in a bad way, or I wouldn’t have bothered watching it. I thought the three leads had pretty good comic chemistry, and the film delivers a couple of memorable comic set pieces, including Ted and Wahlberg’s attempt to jack off a major sports figure. God bless Seyfried for enduring Ted’s references to her as “Gollum”, and I also enjoyed Patrick Warburton and Michael Dorn as a couple of gay bullies.
