Toy Story 2 (1999)
[8]
Pixar returns to the toy box for another adventure with Woody, Buzz, and all the other toys who helped make the first Toy Story so memorable. This time around, Woody is kidnapped by a toy collector and the other toys must launch a daring rescue. The sequel is more action-packed, pitting the toys against big city traffic and Buzz Lightyear’s nemesis, Emperor Zurg, before throwing them into an airport climax where Buzz rescues Woody from a plane during lift-off. New toys join the familiar ones, including a rowdy cowgirl voiced by Joan Cusack. Toy Story 2 may lack the novelty of the first film, but it gives us a chance to spend more time with characters we’ve grown to love.
