I’m all for slummin’ it through a naughty romp every now and then, and sex comedies are even a favorite genre of mine. But The Change-Up reeks of pathetic desperation, actually giving dick, fart, piss, and boob jokes a bad name. I mean, they’ve got Jason Bateman eating baby shit before the opening titles roll. And why does every male character under the age of 50 have to be portrayed as a total douche bag asshole these days? Bateman and Ryan Reynolds’ characters, even after their insipid character transformations, are disgraces to the male gender. Leslie Mann (still lovin’ her) gives her all in a supporting turn as one of the men’s wives… but how on earth did they trick her into making this movie? And Alan Arkin, too? It hurts. It just hurts…
